Extremely rare USMNT blogging
The US Men’s National Soccer Team has a crucial World Cup qualifying game — match? tie? I can never get the twee futbol jargon right — against Honduras in a couple of hours in Saint Paul, where currently the wind chill is -14 F and is expected to get down to -20 to -25 during the game (Temperatures are going to be around zero or below and the wind is blowing at 15 mph).
I understand the galaxy brains who run the national program intentionally chose this venue to intimidate mighty Honduras with the prospect of literally freezing to death on the field (pitch?) during the game, but this seems a bit excessive.
Anyway consider this an open thread to talk about the USMNT, World Cup qualifying, the World Cup itself, or anything else even vaguely soccer related.
