John Madden, RIP

Simply put, John Madden is the single most important figure in the history of football broadcasting, not only because of the transformative video game that used his name but because of what led to a video game wanting to use his name. It’s also worth noting that he played an active role in the game’s development, really guiding the creators through its early years to make it as realistic as possible. He was also the master of discussing meat and meat combos in the waning moments of blowout games. RIP.
