The 10 best “love, death and robots” episodes, ranked: a definitive list

This list assumes you’ve watched the entire series—super fans only! Is is not up for debate, being objectively correct.

• 10. Beyond the Aquila Rift was one of the first episodes I watched and it left a mark. Haunting and immersive.
  
• 9. The Drowned Giant is one of the series most odd and also most poignant.
  
• 8. Fish Night. is pure tragic magic.
  
• 7. Automated Customer Service is stunningly animated and so funny.
  
• 6. Sonnie’s Edge is one of the most gorgeously-animated and has a twist you won’t see coming.
  
• 5. 3 Robots is the funniest episode, in addition to it being charmingly-animated. An iconic episode, I have a T-shirt based upon it.
  
• 4. The Witness is one of the most eerie and stylish of the series. It’ll get under your skin.
  
• 3. Pop Squad is a punch in the gut, as well as being one of the most lushly-animated of the bunch.
  
• 2. Ice is a gorgeous homage to brotherly love and the fierce and terrifying beauty of nature.
  
• 1. Zima Blue demands you sit with it for awhile after watching it, and, believe me, you’ll need to. Utter brilliance, from start to finish.
