The NFL offers a model for how to get the “hesitant” vaccinated
Two months ago, only a little more than half of all players on NFL rosters were vaccinated.
Then the league and the players union agreed on work rules that made the decision not to get vaccinated very burdensome.
The result? As of Wednesday, 92% of players on NFL rosters were at least partially vaccinated, and the league still has a goal of achieving 100% vaccination by the start of the regular season, a month from now.
The league is made up of exclusively young men, a large majority of them black, meaning that players are drawn from a demographic that has a low vaccination rate relative to the population as a whole. But obviously this kind of tactic is extremely effective.
