Terror attacks in Kabul

The latest news appears to be that 11 American Marines and a Navy Medic were killed in a suicide bombing at a checkpoint at the gates into the Kabul airport. It also appears that many dozens of Afghans were killed in the same attack.
There are reports of two other attacks in Kabul as well. No word yet on the casualties from those.
Republicans and their many enablers in the war-loving media are of course trying to take full political advantage of all this carnage, after spending 20 years being more or less completely indifferent to the hundreds of thousands of people who have been killed in the Afghan civil war over the past two decades.
For those of us typing away in air conditioned offices, it might be appropriate to take a moment to consider the sheer courage of the service members who died while trying to continue the evacuation of that wretched country:
