My employer has a very special set of vaccination requirements
To top off this horrible day, I just learned that the University of Colorado’s requirement that all faculty, staff, and students be vaccinated in order to be on campus, that was announced with much fanfare earlier this summer, consists of the following protocols:
(1) You can submit proof of vaccination
(2) You can get an exemption from the requirement.
Here is the language that governs who can get an exemption:
There are two types of exemptions:
- Medical exemption: Medical exemptions must be signed by a licensed physician and must include a date and a reason for exemption.
OK that sounds pretty reasonable.
- Non-medical exemption: Non-medical exemptions are for religious or personal beliefs that are opposed to immunizations.
Um, I am but a simple country fake lawyer, but isn’t that like the opposite of what is normally called a requirement? As in it’s a requirement unless you have a personal belief that the requirement shouldn’t apply to you?
Oh, also too, the regulations bar anybody from asking anybody else if they’re vaccinated. That’s personal information dontcha know.
It’s kayfabe all the way down apparently.
