I haven’t been able to write extensively about the situation in Afghanistan in part because in my day-job capacity I am still involved to an extent in the situation in Afghanistan; we have alums who are stuck and we are doing our best to do right by them. More later. Here are some links:

No comment at the moment on the evacuation, other than a) it feels like the Biden administration could have taken several steps to make it easier for Afghans who worked with the US to escape, but b) it is difficult to plan for a mass evacuation without inducing the conditions that necessitate a mass evacuation.
