The Grand Expedition to the Outermost West Reaches Its Western Terminus
The Grand Expedition has reached the Seattle area. I can’t quite make Google Maps accept all of the steps to map things out, but this is the general outline:
- Lexington
- St. Louis
- Omaha
- Denver
- Boulder
- Salt Lake City (via Rocky Mountain National Park)
- Rancho Cordova
- Springfield-Eugene (via Redwood National Park)
- Oregon City-Portland (via US-101)
- Seattle
Suggestions on routes were taken from the previous thread; many thanks for the deeply scenic paths through the Rockies and Northern California. Along the way we have connected with members of the LGM Collective, including Brother Campos in Boulder, Ma and Pa Loomis in Springfield, Brother Koski in Oregon City, and Brothers Lemieux and Watkins this afternoon in Seattle. It has been an experience, and the only time I was really tired of driving was yesterday afternoon as we approached Seattle. We’ll see how things go on the way back, which will be three days of driving, 12 hours each. If you’d like to see what we’ve done so far or what we’re doing next, Instagram is the place…
