“Please don’t shoot is what I’m asking”
By Very disturbing audio below of a call NFL star Richard Sherman’s wife Ashley Moss made to a 911 dispatcher about her husband’s apparently violent and suicidal behavior. She asks for the police to be dispatched to their home, but is understandably concerned they might shoot him (Sherman is black).
Sherman is a particularly thoughtful and intelligent professional athlete. Whether the demons he seems to be wrestling with at the moment have anything to do with the long term effects of CTE is always something that has to be taken account in this kind of situation.
The dispatcher seems extremely annoyed that Moss is not following the precise recommended protocol for a 911 call when you are afraid your husband may be about to kill himself and/or members of his family.
