LGM Podcast: Globalization and Its Discontents
For the latest LGM podcast, I was happy to interview Paul Adler, historian at Colorado College, on his new book No Globalization without Representation: U.S. Activists and World Inequality published recently by the University of Pennsylvania Press. This is a longer podcast than normal due to the deep and complex issues we get into about the development of organizing around global issues among U.S. progressives, the Nestle boycott, how these campaigns morphed over time, its peak during the campaign against the WTO that culminated in the Battle of Seattle, how and why these movements declined in the aftermath of 9/11, and where we are at today on these issues. I am sure you will enjoy it!
