LGM Film Club, Part 186: The Goodnight-Loving Trail
With Texas politicians forcing the state history museum to cancel events (CANCEL CULTURE!) that might reek of CRITICAL RACE THEORY such as saying that maybe the Texans at the Alamo weren’t the greatest people in the world and that maybe the Phil Collins artifact collection is a bunch of hooey, it’s worth looking at the kind of history that Texas does want taught. So here’s the first two minutes of a ridiculous 1960 oil company funded and state produced film on the Goodnight-Loving Trail, where men were men, animals were dangerous, and savages needed extermination.
You can watch the entire 14 film at the Texas Archive of the Moving Image, but I can’t get their embedding feature to work here at the blog.
