LGM Film Club, Part 183: America’s Distribution of Wealth
We haven’t gone down the rabbit hole of anti-communist propaganda lately, so let’s revisit it with another of the terrible Harding College produced films, America’s Distribution of Wealth. This is a dry as dust recitation of how America is awesome, with a couple of amusing exceptions. First is the assertion that American capitalism is good because it is godly and right, the circular logic that only makes sense to people already in the cult. Second, there is the laughably bad “English socialist” and “Soviet communist” that are amazed by American consumer goods. The British socialist is of course dressed in tweed and smoking a pipe while the Soviet is a big bullish brute, a la Khrushchev. Mostly though, it’s remarkable just how terrible these films are.
