A Portland (Oregon) friend informs me that the forecast high for Sunday is 113 degrees, which would be 11 degrees hotter than the previous recorded high for a June day, and six degrees hotter than any day ever.
A reminder that the undisputed leader of one of America’s two major parties has said many times he believes climate change is a hoax, although some younger Republicans are beginning to acknowledge reality, especially since there’s lots of money to be made via that acknowledgement (key phrase: “market-based solutions”.)
