“Transportation Infrastructure” is a type of “Infrastructure”

But you wouldn’t know that if you listened to the GOP, which can’t decide whether “transportation” only includes things that cars go vroom on or extends all the way to mass transit. Whichever. It certainly doesn’t include energy generation and distribution, plumbing, telecommunications, the medical system, or public buildings.

Also, it’s “The American Jobs Plan” not “The American Infrastructure Plan.” It includes many things that the average person might normally consider “infrastructure” and other things that they might not. Many of those things are likely pretty popular too, so it might be a good idea to not confuse the synecdoche with the actual plan.
