Racism and the Policing of Sound

The great Chicago journalist and author Natalie Moore has a story up today about the efforts of anonymous cowards to get their neighbors to call the police on Chicago’s famous and wonderful “Bucket Boys.” It’s a quick read or listen and is well worth it.

A whole lot of people–especially ones who are wealthy and white–have learned exactly nothing from the last 8 months. Racism remains as pervasive as ever. So does the privileged, racist insistence that the police are here to eliminate by whatever means necessary people that inconvenience the types of horrible monsters who post flyers like this.
