Who writes Trump’s tweets?

Many people have noted that it’s obvious that some of the tweets that appear on Trump’s twitter feed obviously weren’t written by him. For example, the tweets from last night that Scott links below include one that was clearly written by somebody else, because it’s too literate to have come from Trump himself (Trump would never use a word like “purportedly,” and the phrase “sitting president” is too literate of a formulation for him as well).

Any veteran teacher has had the experience of reading a student paper that features these sorts of disjunctions — almost all the paper is written in prose that indicates the author can’t really write too good, but then suddenly there are a couple of sentences of pellucid prose out of nowhere.

So as our political culture circles slowly down the drain, one question that future historians, assuming the existence of such, will at some point grapple with is: Which of Trump’s tweets were authored by him, and which were authored by others, and who were those others? And how did this process work exactly? Did Vanky just sidle up to him sometimes and say Daddy Daddy please? Did Stephen Miller stop torturing cats from time to time and ask for the supreme privilege of becoming the Mouth of Trump?

These fragments I have shored against my ruins.
