John Le Carré, RIP
Dang, this is quite the bad weekend for losing major artistic figures.
Le Carré is someone who I discovered relatively recently, although of course knowing of him forever. But I started reading his work only in the last year or two. There’s of course the classic adaptations of his work, I guess starting with The Spy Who Came In From the Cold, which might be in fact the quintessential Cold War film. Not to mention Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy, which I know of mostly from that fantastic adaption staring Gary Oldham.
