Eddie Van Halen, the Dutch-American co-founder of the eponymous group, and widely considered one of the greatest electric guitarists of all time, has died at age 65 of throat cancer.

I personally will always remember him best for his snarling solo in the middle of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.”
