Republicans try to hold Senate with some meaningless trivia
I’m supposed to care about this…why?
North Carolina Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Cal Cunningham, a married father of two, sent text messages of a sexual nature to a woman who is not his wife, his campaign confirmed Friday night.
The text messages between Cunningham and Arlene Guzman Todd, a public relations strategist from California, were first reported Thursday night by NationalFile.com.
The report included pictures of the text messages, in which Cunningham and Guzman, who is also married according to the report, talked about kissing each other and more.
So…some consenting adults not in a position of trust or authority sent some mildly racy texts to each other? That’s the scandal? The idea that these texts between consenting adults should be considered material to a race that could literally determine whether 30 million people have healthcare in 2022 is absolutely absurd:
Also the sexts in question are just… what? https://t.co/zTyuRwkJ2w pic.twitter.com/cCisiKqVdi— Claire Perry (@sclaire_perry) October 3, 2020
The only possible “scandal” here is if the texts were obtained non-consensually. And needless to say it takes several metric tons of bad faith for Republicans about to vote for President Grab ‘Em By The Pussy again to pretend to think this is important.
