This isn’t the most consequential anti-voting-rights decision the Roberts Court has barfed up because Alabama isn’t a swing state, but it’s one of the most egregiously indefensible:
The District Court found that the ban on curbside voting, forcing people with disabilities that make them uniquely vulnerable to risk exposure to COVID if they want to vote, violated the American with Disabilities Act pic.twitter.com/hTxexqt3gM— Scott Lemieux (@LemieuxLGM) October 22, 2020

One of the people Supreme Court Republicans want to face a "your vote or very possibly your life" choice. (Worth reiterating here that AL of course does not have a mask requirement in polling places.) pic.twitter.com/Tkjhnn4Wmz— Scott Lemieux (@LemieuxLGM) October 22, 2020
If Democrats take over the White House and Senate, they face a stark choice: reform the courts, or let an ultrapartisan 6-3 majority that is unremittingly hostile to voting rights because it represents a dwindling minority faction slowly strangle American democracy to death.— Scott Lemieux (@LemieuxLGM) October 22, 2020
Just pack the damn courts.
