On the latest LGM podcast, Erik, Paul and me spoke with longtime friend of the blog Glenn Kenny about his superb new book Made Men: The Story of Goodfellas. I will have more about it in a follow-up post, but suffice it to say it’s the best book of its kind I’ve read since Julie Salomon’s The Devil’s Candy, with the happy distinction about being about one of the greatest of American movies rather than one of the biggest fiascoes. We talk about the book, the transformation of Scorsese’s career, the music, and willful misinterpretations of Scorsese’s moral stance toward what he portrays. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had on a podcast and I hope you enjoy it too.
