Hoist on your own John Roberts
Some Trump supporters are taking his statements about voting by mail both seriously and literally:
People burned letters informing them that they can vote by absentee ballot in future elections during a protest near Grand Rapids.
The applications were burned Friday during an event called Operation Incinerator outside the DeltaPlex Arena in Walker. Many people had flags, shirts and signs showing support for President Donald Trump and Republicans.
“For them just to issue them without merit, without request to absolutely everybody — that is a great waste of taxpayer money,” said Michael Farage, president of the Grand Rapids Taxpayers Association.
Even more encouragingly, Trump’s polling has gone from weak to dismal since the racist violence Trump strongly favors has become a national issue. I’m particularly interested in Theresa Greenfield leading in Iowa on the back of Republicans getting whipped there in the 2018 midterms. Because of how bad Trump’s trade wars are for the agricultural sector that state will be a real test of how much senseless material deprivation Republicans can inflict on a white rural state Obama carried twice and still win it. We may have actually reached the limit, and if Trump can’t carry Iowa he’s toast.
