The biggest problem we have at the moment is that 40% of the American voting population affirmatively wants an authoritarian white supremacist as president. That is the only kind of candidate that can win the Republican presidential nomination for the foreseeable future, although it may come wrapped in the smoother veneer of a Tucker Carlson or a Josh Hawley rather than its current buffoonish form.
