How the rich spend their money (it’s on basement villages!)

I found this ridiculous listing on twitter. It’s a mansion, and I’m pretty sure its rooms have found some way to reproduce because I never made it to the end of the slideshow. They were that numerous. I can’t imagine someone needing that much space. I think I counted 30 bathrooms. I am exaggerating, but only slightly. There are–inexplicably–three dining areas. And more sitting rooms and bedrooms than I could count.
The piece de resistance, however, is the basement, which has been made into little village. I’ve seen rich people do incredibly stupid, tacky things with their money, and for me this doesn’t even rank. In fact, I find it rather whimsical. I can see “doing it up” for the holidays and letting kids go nuts down there. But that’s just me.
The house is pretty (I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at it) if you can picture it without the occupants stuff in it, which is pretty uniformly stodgy and artless.
Anyway, this is how tacky rich people live. Isn’t it weird?
