Southern Exceptionalism

Here are the large counties in which there was relatively frequent travel last Friday despite the escalating pandemic:

The vast majority are Southern, and all are in red states except for the two California counties that are near the bottom of the list and presumably have a disproportionate number of essential agricultural workers with long commuting times. This is going to be a horrible month, and MAGA identity politics is going to make it a lot worse than it needed to be.
