A Note on Advertisements

Sharp eyed observers will note the addition of a couple of new ad units to the site. While we generally try to avoid further cluttering the blog with ads, two developments have pushed our decision. First, for unclear reasons (possibly the further proliferation of adblocking software) revenue from the older units has declined, even as traffic has gone up. Second, we anticipate that the… erm… general collapse of the United States as a socio-economic concept will necessarily affect the ability of our donors to indulge their generosity when the day comes. Thus, new ads. We will, however, monitor how these ads affect readability, and evaluate thus evaluate their overall impact on the health of the blog.
