The Nominees…

Academy Award nominations are out. I am in the unusual position of actually having seen four of the Best Picture nominees, mostly because two of them are on Netflix. My preference ordering among those four:

1. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
2. Marriage Story
3. The Irishman
4. Joker

I hasten to add, however, that I *liked* Joker, and that anyone who declares that it has somehow ruined the process needs to answer for Vice, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Extremely Close and Incredibly Loud, and a great number of other films that no one liked enough to hate.
