The UAW and Health Care

Not that anyone cares anymore, but the United Auto Workers strike is entering its third week tomorrow. I was on NPR’s Weekend Edition today to talk about the UAW and health care, a major issue in the conflict. The UAW has managed to hold onto the principle of workers paying nearly nothing for health insurance. I talked some about why that is and how it was ultimately a compromise in the 1950 Treaty of Detroit.
