These Comments Seem Quite Racially Infused

Trump — and why not, seeing how he has his own party firmly at his back — is intensifying his racist attacks on Ilhan Omar:
President Donald Trump on Wednesday ratcheted up his racist attacks on a group of Democratic lawmakers during an impromptu press conference on the White House lawn, reigniting a false and defamatory rumor about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that first surfaced during her victorious state Senate campaign in 2016.
Responding to a question during a televised press availability shortly before he departed for a campaign event, Trump suggested that Omar was once married to her brother.
“Well there’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother,” he said. “I know nothing about it, I hear that she was married to her brother, you’re asking me a question about it. I don’t know but I’m sure that somebody would be looking at that.”
If only there were more old-timey Republicans like Peggy Noonan and Bill Safire, who would never use the fact that some inflammatory bullshit about a Democratic politician was OUT THERE to justify repeating it!
And his audience is getting the message:
President Donald Trump made his first 2020 campaign stop in North Carolina on Wednesday, but he carried with him a simmering feud with four liberal Democratic congresswomen of color who he has accused of hating the country and said they should leave it.
And the crowd cheered along.
Trump, campaigning at East Carolina University in Greenville along with Vice President Mike Pence and several members of the North Carolina delegation, ran through a litany of statements made by the four freshmen congresswomen — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
“Send her back,” the crowd chanted as Trump went through a list of actions by Omar, a Somali refugee who was granted asylum in the United States as a child and became a citizen in her teens.
At least if he tries to give material effect to his anti-Muslim animus you know the Supreme Court will be there to stop…I’ll come in again.
