Last-Minute Holiday Gifts!
I’ve tried to restrain from overly promoting the new book around here, which has been assisted by the fact that I was largely too busy to blog much over the semester. But I have to say that it has done pretty well, sold quite a good number of copies, etc. I just wanted to highlight a couple of things, in case you need some last minute holiday gifts for those in your life interested in the struggle:
Kirkus named the book to its best non-fiction books of 2018 list. Given that Kirkus is known for its relatively brutal reviews, I have been told by a number of academic friends that in their world at least, this is a big deal.
The always wonderful and generous John Nichols made it his contribution to The Progressive’s best books of 2018.
The Hong Kong Free Press named it to its list of best human rights books released this quarter, which is kind of a cool thing to be named to given the number of amazing books about critical stories on that list.
And a nice review here from the UE, one of the most democratic unions in the country. And another from The Cascadia Advocate.
In other related media news:
I was on the Rick Smith show last week discussing GM closing all those auto plants.
I was featured in this National Journal article on the fraught relations between labor and environmentalists. I had a piece for The Daily Climate a few months back on this too.
Talked about the book on the Heartland Labor Forum. I’ve done a bunch of other radio shows too, including just this afternoon on Your Call, on KALW in San Francisco, although I don’t know whether it is streamed as well.
Point being, support the work of LGM writers, whether myself or my comrades!
