The weird liberal W nostalgia last year and early this year was extremely annoying and shows how shallow our historical memories are. Bush is a bottom 10 president, easy. He was terrible at every single aspect of the job and was fine with that. Yes, Trump is a bottom 3 president and there’s a difference. I remember in 2008 people saying that Bush was the worst president ever and me replying that there’s a whole other level of terrible. Trump is that level. But that doesn’t mean Bush is anything more than a horrible person with horrible politics, no matter how many candies he slips to Michelle Obama at McCain’s funeral. The only difference between NeverTrumpers and Trump is some of the foreign policy and the tweeting. On domestic policy and appointments, Trump is a bog standard Republican. So this didn’t surprise me at all.
