I was lucky enough to be on The Sound and the Furious Podcast last week, with scholars seeking to combine academia and pop culture in ways that reach out to a broad audience. The subject was “The Zombie White Working-Class: Representations of Class & Labor,” and I participated by discussing depictions of work and unions in film, as well as by talking about what a fraud J.D. Vance is, which was a topic throughout the various segments of the podcast, as J.D. Vance is not only an idiot who has gotten rich on scamming white liberals as the “Appalachian Explainer” even though he’s from the Cincinnati suburbs, but he also works for an actual vampire. Anyway, check it out.
