MSU Sign at the Bogue Street Entrance on a August Summer day

Rachael Denhollander sums up the performance of MSU’s power elite over the last year:

Since that time, MSU BoT members, the current president, and other spokesman, leaders, and donors have:

– Said I did it for money (Larry’s attorneys said the same thing)

– Accused me of being a “pawn” who was “paraded out” in support of legislative reform (reform I initiated on my own, which no one at MSU seems to believe)

– Leveraged every ounce of political weight and pressure to stand against me, these women, and every survivor in the state to stop this reform

– Decided to “go play golf” instead of dealing with the worst sexual assault scandal on campus

– Lied and told survivors I met with John Engler and made monetary demands (Engler actually refused multiple times to meet with me)

– Spent 500k in ONE MONTH alone monitoring my husband’s social media and the social media of other survivors

– Said we are “ruining the state” and “have to be stopped”

And pretty much by definition the ex post stuff can’t be as bad as the ex ante stuff, like “one of the people responsible for the sham Title IX investigation of Nassar was a serial sexual predator himself.” That these people aren’t living the rest of their lives in quiet shame but still actively trying to attack the victims and cover up the massive systemic failures of their institution is staggering, but tells us a lot about a country in which Donald J. Trump can be president. After all:
