The whiteness of the wail

Apparently it’s necessary to point out that, from the perspective of a white ethno-nationalist political party, i.e., the ruling party in the United States at the moment, Hispanic people aren’t really white. So while one year ago today I was almost or largely or constructively white for most purposes (old joke: Q: when does a Mexican become a Spaniard? A: when he starts dating your daughter), a few days after that I started getting a lot less white, and that process continues today.

P.S. The same mysterious ethnic alchemy applies to Jews, so the Intercept is also even more diverse than it was a year ago.
