When You Elect a Racist President Running on a Racist Platform, Racism is What You Get

Trump decides to end DACA, with a six-month delay. The idea seems to be to kick the issue to Congress, but it’s not as if Trump or Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III wants the Dreamers to be in the nation. Deporting a Guatemalan-born American who may or may not speak Spanish to Guatemala City where they may soon be kidnapped and murdered by gangs is a feature, not a bug, to Trump, Sessions, and their voters. Some Republican senators are claiming they are going to pass a “conservative Dreamer bill,” whatever that means. Who knows if Trump would sign it. Probably depends on how much he hates a given senator on a given day. I do know that this is a horrifying outrage against everything the United States should be. It’s also why Trump voters voted for him.
