Republican Masterminds Advance Incredibly Cunning Scheme
Surely this not-at-all-transparent ploy will totally work:
In the event you weren’t quite convinced that the White House could turn the governance of America into the world’s most elaborate game of Clue, some Republicans are now floating the name of Merrick Garland to replace ousted FBI Director James Comey.
That’s right, Merrick Garland, the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Interesting! But I think the clear, bipartisan choice to head the FBI is a rotating committee of Pat Toomey and Richard Burr.
As with their ridiculous pretext for firing Comey — which Trump couldn’t even stick to — I wonder if this is just pure trolling, or if they actually think this kind of thing will convince anybody (well, anybody but Amy Klobuchar, who just got knocked down a notch on my 2020 scorecard.)
