I guess we should get this up early for the Giants fans out there?
- The England games so far have entailed “basing an international marketing effort on mediocre teams facing bad ones.”
- The fact that the league seems to see trivial taunting fouls as more serious offenses than deliberate attempts to injure is Roger Goodell in a nutshell.
- Oddly, the GM who traded a 1st round pick for Trent Richardson turns out to be inept.
- Enjoyed Dom Cosentino’s deep dive into the Jets. The fundamental problem is that I would estimate the future value of the QBs currently on the Jets roster as 1. Smith 2. Fitzpatrick 3. Petty 4. Fireman Ed 5. Hackenberg — and Geno is pretty terrible. The playing-chicken negotiations with Fitz were in their way perfect; he was on the one hand the best option the Jets had and on the other hand every other team that needed a QB realized that he will only look good if everything works perfectly. It could be worse for the Jets: they could have sunk big money into Brock Osweiler.
- I wrote a post predicting that the Bills would rank 3rd in the league in DVOA no later than 4 weeks after firing Greg Roman. Unfortunately, it was spiked by this site’s editors. This is the most outrageous outrage since Hillary Clinton’s unprecedented use of television advertising, which allowed her to rig the Democratic primaries.
