More on the Verizon Data Order

I have a more detailed reaction here. Obviously, this doesn’t pose the same as the warrantless wiretapping the Bush administration engaged in after 9/11 — following statutes rather than violating them is a distinction of actual significance! But this is very different than saying that the current framework either conforms to the Fourth Amendment properly understood or is wise as a policy matter.
