LGM’s crack investigative staff has uncovered the sole author of the 2012 Republican platform: Mr. Don Hilbig of Beloit, WI.

I especially like the last paragraph, which aptly summarizes the view of gender relations held by Leon Kass-style conservatives, the Think Like A Man-style of advice books/romantic comedies, etc.:

Many people have observed that if it were not for sex, men and women would rarely come together. Let’s recognize those differences and retain a common sense separateness.

And, indeed, pretty much the only way to discern any internal logic to reactionary sexual mores is if you believe that men have no interest in associating with women if they’re not engaged in sexual relations (that women do not want to be having but will tolerate if they can trap you into paying them to raise children) at the time.
