Now, I consider myself something of an expert on weird holidays — tomorrow is Hobbit Day and Elephant Appreciation Day, by the way — but I hadn’t run across National Parking Day before.
Sounds like a great idea — reclaim urban space that’s been colonized by The Man — but one wonders if the spirit of the day hasn’t been smothered by commercialization and gentility. Have we lost touch with the “reason for the season?”
