Cold…
The execution of Cicero… very well done. Pullo has killed more than his share in cold blood, a fact that we forget when he’s murdering nameless extras, but the workmanlike way in which he carried out Cicero’s sentence was quite remarkable.
…I disapprove of the depiction of Philippi. The real battle included three engagements (Antony defeated Cassius, Brutus defeated Octavian, then two weeks later Octavian and Antony defeated Brutus), but I suppose some dramatic license is allowed. Nevertheless, combat between legions of Romans was a bit more orderly than the free-for-all depicted. That situation would only have occured following the rout of one side or another. Oh yes, and both Brutus and Cassius committed suicide, rather than dying in battle.
