Stalinist Criticism Wears a Fedora
Roy Edroso notes that Roger L. Simon, author of the screenplay of arguably the most irritating movie I’ve ever seen in a theatre and now the blogosphere’s most irritating Yoosta Bee, is now the drama critic of the ever-declining National Review. I think this is all that needs to be said:
I would recommend that Simon examine the work [of] Terry Teachout, a conservative whose theatre criticism is about the plays rather than the goddamn audiences, but I fear the lesson would be wasted.
Exactly right. I’m surprised that NRO hasn’t hired Michael Medved yet. (And do visit Teachout‘s site, which is indeed a treat.)
