Things to make you go “wha?”

First, if you’re going to arrest someone and hold them incommunicado for two years, at least make sure that they’re guilty. Oh, well, I guess that the latter may be connected to the former.

Second, the Spanish press is reporting that the CIA believes that Hugo Chavez, fresh off his expected victory in the August 15 recall vote, is planning to invade and conquer most of South America, then turn it into a “socialist super-state.” I wonder which part bothers them more. . .
