The Walkmen
By On a whim, I went to see The Walkmen last night.
My impressions:
1) They pretty much live up to the hype. I’m planning to pick up at least one of their albums shortly.
2) I’ve can’t think of another rock band as drummer-centered as these guys. Their drummer is the heart of the band, and one of the best rock drummers I’ve ever seen.
3) It’s hard to imagine that any band with the impeccably good taste to close their show with a cover of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers “Fly Into a Mystery” isn’t going to be pretty good.
