The Convention
By Just in case you’re wondering, we’re not in Boston for the Convention.
I haven’t decided yet what parts of this I’m planning to watch. Tonight seems like the strongest lineup with Gore, Carter, and the Clintons. I’ll miss Kerry on Thursday night because of class.
Mostly, I just find these things boring. The parties have discovered that saying anything important or controversial, they lose points. This is why the Dems and Reps both put forth moderates who hardly disagree with one another on matters of policy. Of course, it’s notable that the Dem speakers seem to actually represent the ideology of the party, while the Republican speakers serve to obscure it.
