Just finished screening The Third Man for my World Politics class, got me to think about cinema’s greatest villains. A few of my favorite that leaped to mind:

Harry Lime, Orson Welles, The Third Man
Noah Cross, John Huston, Chinatown
Frank, Henry Fonda, Once Upon a Time in the West
Hank Quinlan, Orson Welles, Touch of Evil
Mildred Ratched, Louise Fletcher, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Captain, Strother Martin, Cool Hand Luke
Harry Powell, Robert Mitchum, Night of the Hunter
Bert Gordon, George C. Scott, The Hustler
Mrs. Iselin, Angela Lansbury, The Manchurian Candidate (courtesy of Matt)

And a few that don’t belong in the above list, but are still fun:

William Cutting, Daniel Day-Lewis, The Gangs of New York
John Milton, Al Pacino, The Devil’s Advocate
John Doe, Kevin Spacey, Seven

Anyone that I’ve missed? Any disagreements?
