Who’s afraid of George Tenet?
What’s the deal with the Tenet resignation? I don’t know. Via Kevin Drum, Mark Kleinman has an interesting theory. I’d certainly like to believe that story, although it’s probably too good to be true.
In the past, I haven’t cared too much about whether person X resigned, or was fired, or was planning to write a book. The full-on train wreck that is Bush administration foreign policy makes every little tidbit juicy, though. I very much hope that Tenet writes a book, just to give us another window into this world. Sure, any account would be self-serving, but you’ve got to be interested in a narrative from the guy who presided over two of the worst intelligence failures in US history.
