Even serious articles about politics become Onionesque when the president is a bad joke who is aided and abetted by a bunch of malevolent clowns. For example, the WSJ took an unintentional comic turn when it wrote about President Putin Puppet’s latest blooper reel week.

The article starts with what has become typical fare: A White House lackey who is close to Dolt 45 talking about him like he’s a petulant toddler.

“All he’s hearing in D.C. is ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that.’ He can’t criticize the Fed, he can’t criticize the intelligence community,” said a person close to the president, echoing others in Mr. Trump’s orbit. “He’s obviously going to get frustrated by the can’t-do mentality.”

Obviously, not being an ignorant, mouthy ass isn’t an option. And it is unreasonable to expect the president of the United States to respond appropriately when the intelligence community notes that it has been a bit Russian cyber-attacky around here. The nerve!

But that’s all part of the set up for the punch line, located towards the end of the article.

White House aides had begun preparations to make Mr. Trump the public face of planned efforts by the administration to stop election interference in the midterms. Mr. Trump would be shown presiding over meetings and making announcements about an administration-wide commitment to safeguard the 2018 elections.

I take it as given that this would involve some sort of mid-key racist and xenophobic yargling about Voter Fraud. But still, the idea that any sort of photo op/sound bite show this White House cooked up wouldn’t be immediately be knocked off the top of the screen by some sort of massive Executive Fuck Up is to ROFLOAO. As the saying goes, no plan survives contact with the enemy. In this White House, the enemy is the one who is supposed to carry out the plan. Good luck with that particular conundrum, assholes!

In the wake of the Putin summit, Mr. Trump may struggle to credibly make the case that he is spearheading the effort to protect U.S. election systems, the official said.

Don’t worry, it wasn’t credible before the Putin Summit either XD XD XD XD!!
