John Fund is a Mere Letter Away from Being a Limp Bizkit Song
Via alicublog…
I think John Fund might be trollin’ when he says “The thesis of both his book and op-ed are simple. All too often the difference between left and right in what should be “polite circles” is quite sharply drawn. Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas and liberals think conservative are bad people. “
Yes. This makes perfect sense. Because when conservatives imply–or say outright–that liberals are lazy, mooching, irresponsible, god-hating, baby-killing sexual libertines, I’m pretty sure they mean it as a compliment. And when those Tea Partiers hold up racist signs at their rallies they’re just being hipster-ironic. It’s like the schmaltzy kitten t-shirt of the Right, y’all.
This is the money quote, however:
“Back to square one in the culture wars.”
Yes, apparently the weary denizens of The Corner are desperate to end the culture wars. Who knew?
